Supervisory Responsibilities
This position reports to a supervisor or manager and does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and either hold or be eligible for licensure in South Carolina. If you are a senior student, graduation within the next three months is acceptable.
Required Certifications
Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina is required, or eligibility for licensure. BLS certification is mandatory, and NBRC credentials must be maintained. Previous employees (hired before June 2016) may hold certifications as Certified Respiratory Therapists. New hires (from June 2016 onward) are required to complete the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam with a passing score and take the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation. Failure to pass may result in termination.
NRP and PALS certifications are required before working independently in the NICU and PICU.
Additional Skills and Experience
The ability to collaborate effectively within a team is crucial. Strong communication, computer, and organizational skills are essential.
