Job Description As a
Management Accountant, you will oversee day-to-day bookkeeping, financial control, and month-end close activities using Xero and FathomHQ. You'll ensure accuracy in financial reporting, maintain compliance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence.
Your Daily Tasks Bookkeeping & Financial Control
- Maintain the general ledger in Xero, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments
- Prepare monthly financial close and ensure accurate income and expense recognition
- Manage accounts receivable and payable processes, including invoice posting, bank reconciliations, and supplier/customer queries
- Process accruals, prepayments, and other adjustments to support accurate reporting
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts using FathomHQ
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Compliance & Administration
- Prepare and submit VAT returns, Companies House filings, and audit documentation
- Maintain accurate documentation of financial processes and reporting schedules
- Provide weekly cashflow summaries and support future cashflow planning
The Qualifications We Seek Required Skills and Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in bookkeeping or financial control roles
- Proficiency in Xero
- Experience with financial reporting tools such as FathomHQ (or similar)
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential financial data with discretion
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with UK accounting standards and FRS104 revenue recognition (ideal but not required)
- Experience preparing VAT returns and supporting annual audits
- Background in an international environment
