Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team at Studebaker Healthcare Center in Norwalk, California. As a CNA, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse to provide high-quality care to our residents. This is a full-time position, and we offer a competitive hourly rate of $21-$24, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities:
Provide patient care in a manner conducive to safety and comfort, including assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), obtaining and recording Vital Signs and weights, and positioning patients in correct body alignment.
Assist patients with ambulation and transfers, apply adaptive equipment as ordered, and care for personal belongings.
Make occupied and unoccupied beds, and ensure patients are ready for scheduled rehab therapy and transports.
Participate in the care planning process and implement care according to care plan, and perform skin care treatments and apply simple clean dressings, slings, stockings, and support bandages under direction of the licensed nurse.
Feed or assist patients with meals and provide additional nourishment and hydration per care plan, and record patient's oral intake and output.
Use electronic medical record according to the Business Processes, and answer call light or bell promptly and deliver messages, clean areas of spillage or accidents.
Requirements:
Current California Certified Nursing Assistant Certification
Current BCLS certification
No prior C.N.A. experience required; new grads welcome!
Knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and providing related bedside patient care services, as permitted by state regulation.
Knowledge of basic medical asepsis and standard precautions.
Ability to contribute to a patient-centered environment.
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual.
Must be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language.
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Successful completion of a state-approved certified nursing assistant program.
A minimum of a high school education or high school equivalency diploma is preferred.
Basic knowledge of computer use or willingness to learn.
Must attend a minimum of 12 hours continuing education programs provided by the center in order to maintain certification.
