The Business Development Manager - Military, is responsible for achieving annual sales goals focused on key accounts. This position builds and manages a sales funnel / pipeline, converts contractors and partners to specify and standardize on Zurn Elkay products, and supports Zurn Elkay's sales network. This role will focus on promoting selling drinking water solutions, filtration, and commercial brass fixtures to branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, military construction projects and government procurement channel.

Job Functions

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan targeting U.S. military installations, engineering commands, prime contractors, and federal agencies
  • Manage key accounts and key stakeholders within each account. Understand customer priorities and industries to close sales.
  • Build and manage the sales funnel, leveraging CRM for effective account management and forecasting
  • Attend and represent the company at military trade shows, industry days and government procurement events
  • Communicate progress towards goals, obstacles, best practices and other insights to improve performance
  • Continuously engage with, educate, and support Zurn Elkay's sales network
  • Understand and communicate product capabilities and applications
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with military facility managers, procurement officers, engineers and contractors
  • Provide feedback to product development teams regarding market trends, competitor activity and military-specific needs

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent industry experience required in lieu of education
  • Proficient in developing and delivering presentations to Engineers, Owners, Regulators, Architects, Contractors, Wholesalers, Distributors
  • 5+ years of experience in the B2B sales, marketing, and / or service of manufactured plumbing, building materials / systems / controls or other industrial products; specific experience in plumbing, fire protection, irrigation, or site utilities is highly desirable, but not required
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
  • Candidates must be located in Washington DC or Virginia preferred
  • Security Clearance and Base access eligibility preferred
  • Existing Relationships with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC. AFCEC of defense contractors strongly preferred
