Job Overview:

APTIM is pleased to announce an immediate opening for a Civil/Environmental Engineer in our Concord, CA office in order to support our exciting portfolio of projects. Our Concord office operates as the national consulting and engineering center for APTIM's Solid Waste Services Division, and as a regional hub for our Environmental Site Assessment and Remediation Group. We provide the following services to both the public and private sectors:

• Local siting and zoning,
• Facility design and permitting,
• Stormwater modeling and management plan development,
• Construction oversight,
• Operations and maintenance,
• Hydrogeologic and geotechnical investigations,
• Environmental compliance audits,
• Facility closure and redevelopment plans,
• Solid waste planning and public education, and
• Environmental site assessments and remediation.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Preparing site plans, grading and drainage plans, pump and piping plans, and conceptual layouts for civil earthworks, landfill grading and construction projects
• Preparing engineering calculations and supporting analyses
• Preparing reports and specifications, Supporting facility design
• Understanding applicable regulatory requirements
• Performing detailed technical analyses of complex issues
• Developing scopes and budgets
• Providing construction oversight
• Collaborating with other team members
• Assisting project managers
• Attending client meetings
• Providing other duties as required

Basic Qualifications:

• BS/MS Environmental or Civil Engineering
• 5 to 10 years of experience
• Ability to work on multidisciplinary project work
• Excellent oral & written communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Self-starter and problem solver
• Excellent organizational skills
• Develops competence in own area by performing routine work
• Engineer in Training (EIT) designation from the NCEES
• Experience in AutoCAD and Civil 3D

Desired Qualifications:

• Knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations, a plus
• Knowledge of landfill operations and solid waste projects, a plus
• Professional Engineer (PE) License, a plus
