A dynamic and expanding public accounting firm is seeking an experienced, motivated Tax Manager to join its growing team. This firm is committed to delivering proactive, high-quality tax planning and compliance services to a wide range of clients, while fostering a supportive, team-oriented environment.
This role offers excellent worklife balance , with a 40-hour work week during non-peak seasons and approximately 55 hours per week during tax season , ensuring a predictable and manageable workflow throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and a deep understanding of client operations, enabling proactive identification of tax needs.
Tax Strategy
Stay current on tax laws and regulations to provide clients with forward-thinking tax planning solutions and accurate compliance guidance.Growth & Development
Support business development efforts and contribute to the expansion of the firms client base.Review & Supervision
Oversee and review complex tax returns and accruals prepared by staff, including Federal and multi-state returns for corporations, S corporations, partnerships, individuals, trusts, estates, and non-profit entities.Leadership & Mentorship
Lead and mentor staff, promote professional growth, and help shape training programs focused on technical excellence.Collaborative Spirit
Work closely with leadership and colleagues to maintain a positive, communicative, and integrity-driven culture.Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, or Masters / MBA with an accounting concentration (meeting NYS 150-hour CPA educational requirement)6+ years of tax accounting experienceStrong understanding of tax regulations, compliance requirements, and best practicesAnalytical thinker with strong problem-solving abilitiesProficient in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated leadership, organizational, and project management capabilitiesAbility to collaborate in a team-focused environmentWillingness to work on-site with some travel to client locations as neededCompensation & Benefits
