American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in a Level 2 trauma acute care setting requiring ACLS and BLS certification.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 32-bed Emergency Room within an acute care hospitalLevel 2 trauma center with all typical ER cases including chest pain, respiratory failure, abdominal pain, and some pediatric patientsER features a triage area and a separate Fast Track open daily from 11 am to 11 pmNurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 4 in the main ER, 1 : 5 in the low acuity area, and 1 : 4-6 in Fast TrackThree ER techs per shift and respiratory therapy available 24 / 712-hour day shifts with every other weekend and some holiday rotation requiredUses Epic EMR for documentationNo floating outside of the ER is requiredMain responsibilities include triage, fast track care, and supporting typical emergency presentations for all age groupsCharge nurse on every shift without patient assignments and strong team support1-2 shifts orientation with preceptor providedRoyal blue scrubs required; no false nails allowedHoliday coverage as scheduled with permanent staff rotationAll tests and policies must be passed per hospital standards, including EKG competencyFirst-time travelers welcome; the ER is described as traveler-friendly and highly efficientReturning travelers to the health system must have a 2-year break before re-applyingTravelers may not work within the health system for more than one year consecutively\n \n Requirements\n
Active WV or compact RN license requiredMinimum of 2 years recent ER experienceCurrent ACLS and BLS certifications requiredAbility to read and interpret telemetry stripsExperience in Level 2 trauma or similar ER environment preferredPALS, NIHSS, and TNCC preferred (opportunity to obtain TNCC onsite at own expense)Must provide a copy of an unexpired driver’s license for considerationMust live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler\n Benefits\n
