Location: Dayton, OH

Contract: 6-month Contract-to-Hire

Salary: $22/hr

Overview

Brooksource is seeking a motivated Distribution Technician to join our Power Distribution Engineering team in Dayton, OH. This role supports critical operations through field inspections, data collection, work order preparation, and storm damage assessments for overhead (OH) and underground (UG) electrical distribution systems. Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of overhead and underground electrical distribution facilities.
• Collect and document accurate field data to support engineering processes.
• Prepare minor work orders and maintenance reports with precision.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external agencies.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience

Education

• High school diploma required.
• Associate’s Degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Experience

• Entry-level candidates are welcome to apply.
• 1+ years of experience in electric utilities, power distribution, or telecommunications is preferred.
• Experience or comfortable with working in a field environment.
• Comfortable working on feet for the majority of the shift.
• Strong data entry skills with attention to accuracy and detail.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Other Requirements

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
