Network Technician – Intermediate (Network Support Specialist)

Work Environment

• Team Size: 3
• Dress Code: Work Casual
• Travel Required: Yes – throughout South Carolina (same-day travel only unless scheduled), Candidate must have a VALID Driver's License in order to drive a State Vehicle to various locations within State.
• On-Call Rotation: Every 3 weeks (critical network outages)

Daily Duties & Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve help desk tickets related to wired and wireless network issues
• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 on-call support for critical site network outages
• Perform network account onboarding and offboarding using custom scripts
• Assist with infrastructure incidents and escalations
• Support network rollouts, upgrades, cleanup, and remediation efforts
• Participate in planning and execution of network infrastructure improvements
• Maintain documentation and inventory of network assets
• Perform Microsoft administrative tasks including: Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) management Group Policy administration User provisioning and access management Microsoft 365 administration
• Assist with Windows Server administration: Basic server maintenance Monitoring and performance tuning Patch management and updates

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft administration
• 5+ years of experience in Windows Server environments
• 10+ years of hands-on troubleshooting experience in networking (wired and wireless)
• 5+ years of experience in customer service

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in wiring closets
• Experience with Ruckus switches
• Experience with Deskpro Ticketing System
• Experience with Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy
