Travel Nurse RN - Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Pre-Post Op - $2,130 per week in Saint Louis, MO

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Day Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : 2-3 years of Level 1 ICU experience required License : Valid state license required at the time of submission Certifications : BLS, ACLS required Must-Have : - Critical care experience - Inpatient experience - Level I Trauma Center experience - Phase I PACU experience - Dysrhythmia recognition and management - Blood product administration - Phlebotomy - Starting IVs - IV vasopressors - ICP monitoring - Care of ventilated patients Description : Open to reviewing candidates with Level 2 ICU experience. Candidates with at least 2-3 years of Level 1 ICU experience are required for this position. No weekends, no call, and no holidays required. Patient population includes adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatric patients. The unit is open 24 / 7 and consists of 38 patient bays. Daily patient census ranges from 70-90. Surgical patients include those undergoing neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, general, colorectal, GYN, urological, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and transplant surgeries. Open heart surgeries and liver transplants are not included in recovery. Patients may require artificial airways, invasive monitoring, transfusions, and vasoactive drugs. Experience with drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia is required. Candidates must have high acuity ICU experience, with PACU experience preferred. Candidates should also be well-rounded in ICU experience. Additional skills required include EKG rhythm analysis and the ability to work up preoperative patients. This position involves ICU overflow in a PACU holding area. The staffing structure includes PCT / transport teams.
