Job Description
The Full-Stack Data Engineer is responsible for designing and deploying full-stack applications that enable data visualization, dashboarding, and analytics for ESRI-based GIS platforms, Unity Catalog, and cloud-based databases.
The role involves implementing RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support seamless data integration between Data Lake environments, ESRI ArcGIS platforms, and external sources.
Additional responsibilities include managing CI / CD pipelines, containerized deployments in Kubernetes, implementing API authentication and access controls, and optimizing database queries and indexing strategies for large-scale geospatial and structured datasets. The engineer will collaborate closely with data governance, DevOps, and research teams to ensure interoperability, security, and performance of data applications.
Required Qualifications and Experience
The contractor shall provide personnel who meet one of the following requirements :
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline; or
A minimum of five (5) years of equivalent professional experience in full-stack development and data engineering.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience in the following areas :
Developing and deploying full-stack applications for data visualization and analytics within ESRI GIS platforms, Unity Catalog, and cloud databases.
Implementing RESTful and GraphQL APIs for seamless data retrieval and integration.
Managing CI / CD pipelines and containerized deployments in Kubernetes.
Ensuring secure access through API authentication and authorization mechanisms.
Optimizing database queries, indexing, and performance for geospatial and structured datasets.
Required Skills and Competencies
Strong knowledge of full-stack development, data engineering, and cloud-native platforms.
Experience with Databricks, Kubernetes, ESRI ArcGIS, and cloud-based data environments.
Expertise in metadata-driven search, retrieval, and data interoperability.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
Ability to translate research and governance requirements into functional, secure applications.
Education
Bachelors degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
