Responsibilities
Manage inventory levels of medical supplies, ensuring accurate stock counts and timely reordering to prevent shortages or overstocking
Coordinate the sterilization process for surgical instruments and medical equipment, following aseptic techniques and sterilization protocols
Maintain detailed records of supply usage, sterilization cycles, and inventory movements for compliance and audit purposes
Collaborate with clinical staff to understand supply needs for various departments and procedures
Ensure all supplies are stored in appropriate conditions, adhering to safety and hygiene standards related to physiology knowledge and sterile processing
Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery documentation
Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with suppliers, staff, and management about inventory status and procedural requirements
Experience
Proven experience in inventory management within a healthcare or sterile processing environment
Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to understand supply requirements accurately
Familiarity with sterile processing techniques and aseptic procedures essential for maintaining instrument sterility
Ability to operate inventory management systems efficiently and accurately track supplies
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record-keeping and compliance documentation
Prior experience working with sterile instruments or in a surgical setting is highly desirable
Knowledge of safety standards related to handling medical supplies and maintaining aseptic environments
