: Volunteer roles are at VNA Health Care locations in Illinois - Aurora, Elgin and Joliet surrounding area.

Primary Functions : Thank you for your interest in volunteer opportunities with VNA Health Care. Our volunteers give from the heart and are valuable to everything we do. They contribute to our mission and our services with enthusiasm, kindness and talent.

Some VNA volunteers work hundreds of hours a year, while others might work an hour or two a month. Whether behind the scenes or in public, all VNA volunteers touch the lives of others in extraordinary ways.

Volunteer Areas of Interest :

While there are many opportunities to contribute, we have various programs that need you! From our VNA Friendship Circle, a once a month gathering of patients and employees to get together for soup, tea, play board games or just to chat; to our Fresh First Program where you can participate in assisting our patients in making healthier food choices or even community events. Specific positions are listed below however, you can volunteer in more than one area!

VNA Companion : Direct patient / family contact and administrative / clerical responsibilities which may entail working in our Lifestyle / Wellness kitchen, participation in VNA's Friendship Circle as well as access to private health and / or confidential information.

Administrative : Clerical assistance where the volunteer may come into contact or work within the general vicinity of clients or back office clerical assistance with no client contact / exposure.

Community - Events : Short term, special event assistance with general community contact.

Qualifications

• Volunteers must be at least 18
• We request at least a 6 month commitment for volunteering –hours and schedules vary by position.
• Please note that in compliance with healthcare regulations, abackground check physical / drug screen and orientation are part of the volunteeronboarding process.
