IEP is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to be the primary responsibility for the routine functions of the IEP Lab. This role supports IEPs production and environmental goals through the collection and analysis of samples using standardized laboratory test procedures. Previous lab experience is not necessarily required but qualified candidates must be able to learn and comprehend unfamiliar test methods quickly. Candidates must also show a commitment to excellence by continually improving laboratory technique and demonstrating attention to detail. This role is also responsible for the basic administration of related laboratory functions such as equipment maintenance supplies inventory disposal and documentation.
Responsibilities :
- Collect pulp paper and water samples from all areas of the manufacturing process and conduct analyses in accordance with standardized methods.
- Perform all quality assurance and quality control (QA / QC) procedures as required by the analytical method lab accreditation requirements or IEP policy. Recognize and take corrective action when QA / QC requirements are not being met.
- Maintain and administrate a clean and organized work space.
- Keep inventory for laboratory supplies and place orders for laboratory and other related mill functions. Conduct periodic audits of existing inventory.
- Keep up-to-date records of all laboratory Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Handle the disposal of waste material in accordance with State law.
- Maintain all laboratory equipment including scheduling preventative maintenance and calibrations. Establish and keep current equipment documentation and maintenance records.
- Follow and execute IEP policy for laboratory accreditation. Pass an initial demonstration of capability (IDC) and validate with ongoing proficiency testing (PT).
- Commission as needed new laboratory analyses or laboratory equipment including writing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
