Customer-Facing Line Cook

Riverfront location. Customer-facing kiosk. Weekends / Evenings required.

We are seeking an experienced, capable and reliable prep / line cook to join the team at our kiosk at Rockwell on the River (3507 N. Rockwell, Chicago). This Soul & Smoke outlet in Avondale requires a skill set strong enough to carry out line prep, execute line orders and interact with customers in this open, client-facing kitchen. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, detail-oriented, energetic cook with strong time management and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities :

• Set up and stock stations daily with necessary food and supplies.
• Prepare food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, smoking, grilling, sautéing, and other cooking methods according to specified recipes and standards.
• Maintain cleanliness that complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
• Perform inventory checks and complete food storage logs as required.
• Prep and send out dine-in and to-go orders in a fast-paced setting.
• Communicate with Soul & Smoke management, customers, and coworkers in a proactive and professional manner.
• Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude.
• Wash and put away dishes.
• There are also FOH duties in the role at this pop-up, taking some orders at POS, answering customer questions, and maintaining the dining room.
