Robert Half Technology is seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) to support and enhance enterprise database systems, with a primary focus on the Deltek Vantagepoint ERP backend . This role plays a critical part in maintaining performance, reliability, and security across multiple Microsoft SQL Server environments—both on-premise and cloud-connected.

You will join our IT Data Team, partnering closely with engineering, analytics, and ERP stakeholders to drive stability while contributing to long-term modernization initiatives. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on administration, performance tuning, and cross-system data integration.

Key Responsibilities

SQL Server & ERP Administration

  • Administer, monitor, and optimize multiple Microsoft SQL Server instances, including Deltek Vantagepoint as the primary ERP database.
  • Write, tune, and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views.
  • Create and schedule SQL Server Agent jobs for automation, maintenance, and reporting pipelines.
  • Implement and test backup, recovery, and failover strategies for business continuity.
  • Manage indexing , query performance, and system optimization.
  • Plan and execute Deltek Vantagepoint upgrades , schema updates, and related integrations.
  • Build and publish SSRS reports and data models supporting operational and financial reporting.

Cross-System Data Architecture

  • Support integrations between SQL Server and Azure Databricks Lakehouse environments.
  • Collaborate with engineers and analysts on data flows to other enterprise systems.
  • Develop and maintain SQL-based business logic and transformation layers.
  • Contribute to Unity Catalog , metadata management, and data lineage documentation.
  • Partner with Power BI administrators to optimize Fabric dataset refreshes and gateway performance.

    • Data Governance, Security & Monitoring

  • Enforce data access controls and adhere to governance and compliance standards.
  • Participate in data quality audits, issue management, and continuous reliability improvements.
  • Monitor database performance using native and custom tools; proactively resolve issues.
  • Maintain operational and configuration documentation across all database environments.

    • Requirements

  • Strong proficiency administering SQL Server (configuration, tuning, security, indexing).
  • Expert-level T-SQL (CTEs, window functions, MERGE, dynamic SQL, temp tables).
  • Experience supporting ERP databases (Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint strongly preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with on-prem SQL Server .
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with Azure Databricks and Power BI connectivity preferred.
  • Knowledge of data governance (lineage, metadata, access control, quality).
  • PowerShell scripting experience a plus.
  • Strong documentation and communication capabilities.

    • Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of professional SQL Server database administration experience.
  • Experience with Deltek Vision / Vantagepoint and / or Databricks preferred.

  • Standard business hours with occasional upgrade / maintenance windows.
  • Salary : $95,000 – $125,000 / year
