I.K. Hofmann is currently recruiting for a Prep / Line Cook for the JFK, NY Airport. This position requires a self-motivated and reliable candidate that is able to work in a professional environment.

Position :

I.K. Hofmann has an immediate long-term contract opening for a Prep / Line Cook in JFK, NY for a First-Class Lounge. Our client provides a variety of food services to Airlines around the world. Over 1,5 million meals a day are served by our clients to Airlines and its passengers. Currently we are looking for customer service staff at an Airport Lounge within JFK Airport.

• It is important that our ideal candidate is flexible for any shifts.

Benefits Include :

Starting Pay of $25.04 per hour

Responsibilities :

Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies

Prepare food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, slicing, or preparing sauces)

Cook buffet items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff

Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef's instructions

Clean up station and take care of leftover food

Stock inventory appropriately

Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion

Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards

Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Job Requirements of a Prep / Line Cook :

Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line cook, restaurant cook or prep cook

Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures

Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks

Familiar with industry's best practices

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Ability to multi-task as well as stay on task and concentrate with constant interruptions

Prioritize and delegate tasks in a timely manner

Maintain a positive attitude under pressure and motivate team

Knowledge of safe and sanitary food handling principles

Conformity to the highest standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior

Ability to work as a member of a team whose goal is to make all customers experience enjoyable

REQUIRED Education :

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

REQUIRED Experience :

Equivalent professional experience

Qualifications :

Degree in Culinary Arts

Minimum Essential Functions :

Must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time

The person in this position will be required to move about the kitchen area from station to station.

Must be able to distinguish between flavors when creating dishes.
