Your Role and Responsibilities

Qualifications Needed

To qualify for the GL-5 level, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• A combination of relevant work experience and education.

For those aiming for the GL-7 level, applicants should have one year of specialized law enforcement experience or a relevant bachelor's degree demonstrating superior academic achievement.

Additional Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must meet residency requirements.
• Must be under the age of 40 at the time of selection unless exempt due to previous service.
• Must successfully complete a six-month training program at the U.S. Border Patrol Academy in Artesia, New Mexico.
