[job_card.job_description]Seizure Disorders, Diastat Tracheostomy G-tube Type I Diabetic Management, Insulin Injections and Pumps Providing Medication to Students and Structuring Care Plans Conduct health assessments and provide medical care to students as needed. Administer medications and treatments following physician orders and state regulations. Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and medical history. Assist students with chronic illnesses in managing their conditions while at school. Perform health screenings, vision and hearing tests, and maintain accurate health records. Provide first aid and immediate care for injuries or sudden illnesses. Educate students, parents, and staff on health-related topics and promote a healthy school environment. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, school counselors, and administrators to ensure students' well-being. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations in all health-related matters. Participate in emergency drills and crisis intervention when necessary. Keep abreast of the latest developments in pediatric healthcare through continuing education. Current Registered Nurse License in the state of Virginia. Pediatric nursing experience preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Compassion and empathy for working with children and their families. Ability to work in a fast-paced school environment. Knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding school health services. BLS and First Aid certification.
