Collections Specialist

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Collections Specialist for a contract-to-hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of collections processes and will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong organizational abilities, and works collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

• Manage accounts receivable to ensure timely and accurate collection of outstanding payments.
• Proactively contact customers regarding overdue accounts via phone, email, and other communication methods.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and establish repayment plans when necessary.
• Research and resolve customer billing discrepancies or disputes in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maintain customer account records, monitor payment status, and update notes in the system.
• Provide detailed reporting on collection progress, delinquent accounts, and aging accounts receivable.
• Work closely with internal departments (e.g., Sales, Billing, and Customer Service) to resolve any issues impacting collections.
• Evaluate accounts for further collection efforts, including escalations to management or third-party collection agencies, when needed.
• Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding debt collection practices.
