General Accountant

About the Role

Sole Hire is seeking an experienced General Accountant to support our client a growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) specializing in IT solutions for small to mid-sized businesses. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of accounting principles hands-on QuickBooks expertise and prior experience working in or supporting an MSP environment.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. After a 90-day successful contract period the role will transition to a full-time W2 position with access to medical dental and vision insurance along with additional fringe benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including AP / AR journal entries reconciliations and month-end close.
• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and financial reporting records.
• Process payroll vendor payments and client invoicing in QuickBooks.
• Assist with budgeting forecasting and cash flow management.
• Collaborate cross- functionally with operations and project teams to ensure accurate billing and expense tracking.
• Reconcile client accounts commissions and project-based revenue recognition.
• Support audits tax preparation and compliance with federal / state financial regulations.
• Identify process improvements and enhance accounting workflows within the MSP framework.

Required Skills :

What Were Looking For Bachelors degree in accounting Finance or related field 5 years of progressive accounting / finance experience CPA or other relevant certifications strongly preferred but not required Experience in the MSP industry or a similar services-based business strongly preferred Proficiency in accounting systems (QuickBooks NetSuite or similar) Strong problem-solving organizational and communication skills Hands-on proactive approachyoure not afraid to dig into details
