[job_card.job_description]Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Public Administration, or a related field or education and experience combinations may be considered. 3+ years of administrative experience in an engineering, construction, or government setting. 1+ year of experience in contract administration, procurement, or related work. Strong understanding of contract development, bidding procedures, and compliance standards. Knowledge of municipal procurement practices and federal / state contracting regulations. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other administrative software tools. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver’s license required.
SUMMARY : Management Business Solutions is seeking a Contract Administrator for its client in Grand Rapids, MI. This person will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing contracts between the department and outside contractors, vendors, and partner agencies.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Prepare, review, and manage bid requests, contracts, and related documentation in alignment with city policies and applicable laws.
- Oversee the bidding and proposal process, including advertisement, evaluation, and contractor selection.
- Process and track contracts through the city’s approval systems, ensuring timely completion and proper documentation.
- Serve as a point of contact for contractors and consultants, providing guidance on contract terms, performance expectations, and compliance standards.
- Monitor contract performance and assist in resolving issues, discrepancies, or non-compliance matters.
- Compile, organize, and submit reports and supporting materials required by local, state, or federal funding sources.
- Maintain detailed contract records and ensure document accuracy for audits and internal reviews.
- Stay informed of changing laws, policies, and best practices related to procurement, bidding, and contract management.
