Team Red Dog is looking for a Data Scientist to support one of our clients, a data and analytics innovator, on a high-impact role supporting the Mojang Player Data and Insights team. This is an exciting opportunity for a data-driven professional who thrives on turning complex player support and engagement data into actionable insights that directly influence strategy, player experience, and business outcomes across a globally recognized gaming franchise. This long-term contract role is hybrid, with 3 days a week in Redmond, Washington.

Top Required Skills (Must Haves) :

• Advanced data analytics experience (5+ years) with a strong foundation in statistical analysis and problem solving , applied to large, complex datasets to generate actionable insights.
• Strong SQL expertise (5+ years), with experience querying and manipulating data across enterprise data platforms; familiarity with SparkSQL, Databricks, or Azure Data Explorer is a plus.
• Dashboarding and data visualization experience (2+ years), with hands-on use of PowerBI to build, maintain, and enhance business-facing dashboards for self-service insights.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis , with the ability to conduct exploratory analysis, build repeatable workflows, and clearly communicate results.

Opportunity Overview :

This role offers the chance to work at the intersection of data science, player experience, and business strategy within the Minecraft ecosystem. You will collaborate closely with Player Care, data engineering, and cross-functional partners to surface insights that improve player support experiences and connect out-of-game interactions to in-game outcomes. The role provides exposure to a wide variety of data challenges, meaningful stakeholder engagement, and opportunities to influence decision-making across marketing, consumer products, and player engagement initiatives.
