URM Stores, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Specialist with proven expertise in payroll processing and compliance to join our collaborative, multi-company Payroll team. This is a 100% on-site position based in Spokane, WA.

As a Payroll Specialist reporting to our Payroll Analyst Manager, you’ll ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for 750+ employees, maintain compliance with all applicable laws, prepare reports, and serve as a trusted point of contact for payroll inquiries. What You’ll Do

• Accurately process biweekly payroll for 750+ exempt, non-exempt, union, and non-union employees across multiple states.
• Perform payroll controls and audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Interpret and apply four unique Union Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) to ensure every paycheck is correct.
• Manage benefit deductions, payroll tax setup, garnishments, union dues / steps, & 401(k) employee and employer contributions.
• Maintain detailed and accurate payroll records for future audits and internal reviews.
• Collaborate with Accounting to reconcile payroll general ledger accounts.
• Review and audit year-end W-2s and support payroll reconciliation audits.
• Assist with special projects and process improvements.
• Be part of an on-site, collaborative environment that values teamwork and accuracy; no remote work permitted.
