What youll do

• Perform decontamination, cleaning, and inspection of reusable surgical instruments and medical devices in accordance with IFUs.
• Assemble, wrap, and label instrument sets and trays for sterilization.
• Select and operate appropriate sterilization methods including STERRAD / V-Pro (low?temperature hydrogen peroxide), Ethylene Oxide (EO), and Steam in compliance with IFUs and facility policies.
• Conduct and document sterilization monitoring and quality control procedures, including Bowie?Dick tests, biological indicators, and load records.
• Maintain proper storage and rotation of sterile supplies to ensure sterility and accessibility.
• Build and verify case carts for scheduled surgical procedures, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Apply working knowledge of microbiology, aseptic technique, and infection prevention principles.
• Adhere to strict PPE protocols during decontamination and handling of contaminated materials.
• Lift, transport, and handle heavy trays and equipment safely and frequently.
• Communicate effectively with Operating Room and clinical departments to meet instrumentation and equipment needs.
• Comply with all hospital, regulatory, and infection control standards (AAMI, AORN, CDC, and The Joint Commission).
