Job Summary : Responsible for performing the basic activities and related professional services necessary in the care and handling of surgical instruments
Job Duties / Responsibilities :
Ensures proper operation of sterilizers (Steam, Ethylene Oxide and Sterrad units prior to use on a daily basis.Runs biological and chemical tests at beginning of the day shift for both SPD and the OR. Records results in appropriate log.Inspects all sterilizers for visible signs of malfunction and reports to SPD Supervisor.Cleans and decontaminates all equipment and instruments using the proper tools and cleaning agents.Benefits for full and part time employees :

Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent.Minimum of one (1) year experience as Central Service Technician.Obtains national certification within months of hire into the department.
