Financial Controller
Location : Newbury Park
Salary : $110k - $120k (DOE)
Schedule : Mon-Fri, 8.00 am - 5.00 pm This is a Direct Hire position This position is in-office (not remote or hybrid)

A leading specialty collectibles and creative studio is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller. In this role, you will oversee core accounting responsibilities while elevating financial operations to support long-term growth.
As a trusted partner to leadership, the Controller balances immediate financial management needs with building a foundation for future scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting : Lead and manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Compliance : Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports while ensuring compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and regulatory filings.
- Operations : Manage payroll processes and perform regular bank reconciliations to maintain accurate records.
- Audit & Tax Support : Provide documentation and workpapers for tax and audit requests.
- Strategic Planning : Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning in collaboration with company leadership.
- Leadership : Provide oversight, training, and mentorship to the accounting staff.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).Experience : 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including specific experience with audits and year-end close.Technical Skills : Proficiency in financial / ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.Expertise : Strong knowledge of GAAP and compliance requirements.Soft Skills : Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to) : $110,000.00 - $120,000.00
