Job Title : Superintendent

Location : Moorpark, CA

Employment Type : Full Time

About the Role

A well established General Contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on public works, education, and commercial construction projects throughout Ventura County and surrounding markets. This role is responsible for managing day to day jobsite execution, subcontractor coordination, safety compliance, scheduling, and quality control to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate brings strong ground up and tenant improvement experience, a hands on leadership style, and direct experience delivering public works or similar institutional projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all on site construction activities from mobilization through project closeout
  • Manage subcontractors, labor forces, and trade coordination
  • Maintain and enforce jobsite safety programs and OSHA compliance
  • Drive short interval planning and weekly look ahead schedules
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and quality control
  • Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Track daily production, manpower, and jobsite progress
  • Coordinate deliveries, materials, and equipment
  • Lead jobsite meetings and communicate effectively with project management teams
  • Identify and resolve field conflicts, constructability issues, and schedule impacts
  • Ensure compliance with public works and prevailing wage requirements
  • Maintain daily reports and documentation in Procore or comparable software

Qualifications

  • 7 plus years of Superintendent experience with a General Contractor
  • Direct experience delivering public works, education, or civic projects
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, sequencing, and means and methods
  • Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and complex schedules
  • Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, and construction scheduling tools
  • OSHA 30 preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Local or regional experience in Ventura County or surrounding areas preferred
