American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with IL license and Level I trauma experience for a 13-week assignment.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in the Operating Room unit of an acute care, Level I trauma centerShift schedule is 4x10 hour days, 10 : 45 to 21 : 15Weekend shift required once per monthOn-call is required approximately once per weekFloating may occur within skill set but is rareAssignment length is 13 weeksInvolvement with all service lines except CVPatient cases include general surgery, trauma, neuro, orthopedic, plastic, transplant, urology, emergency management, and bariatricRequired equipment experience includes electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources / cords, and Hana tablesCerner EMR is used; Cerner experience is preferredScrubs are provided for this roleResponsible for circulating and scrubbing on a variety of advanced surgical proceduresWorks with a multidisciplinary surgical team in a high-acuity, fast-paced environmentExpected to handle a broad scope of emergency, trauma, and specialized surgical casesFloating may occasionally occur to other units or affiliated hospitals as needed within scopeRequired to work at least 2 out of 3 major holidaysAll requested time off must be reviewed and approved by the managerParking permit is provided at no cost, issued during orientationAll onboarding modules must be completed virtually within first day\n \n Requirements\n
Active IL RN license required at time of applicationMinimum 3 years of recent OR nursing experience requiredLevel I trauma experience requiredGeneral OR and trauma nursing background requiredBLS certification required; CNOR is preferredExperience with major surgical case types including laparoscopic, neuro, ortho, plastics, transplant, urology, and emergency trauma casesFamiliarity with administration of blood products, infection control, universal protocol, specimen handling, and radiation safetyMust live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligibleFirst-time travelers are not acceptedNo prior employment within the past 12 months at this hospital as a permanent or PRN staff member\n Benefits\n
