Description
The Quality Engineer will support a manufacturer of precision‑machined components and complex steel fabrications. This individual will ensure product quality and regulatory compliance across both business divisions, with a strong focus on quality assurance activities and the development of robust documentation packages that meet required quality standards and specifications.
Primary Responsibilities
- Establish inspection criteria, test plans, and supporting documentation to ensure reliable, compliant outcomes
- Verify and validate that documentation packages accurately reflect project and customer requirements
- Develop quality cost estimates, including evaluation of vendor quality capabilities and alternatives
- Support sales teams in developing winning proposals, including authoring quality assurance sections of bid packages and providing supporting documentation (., certifications, test reports)
- Oversee technical quality requirements throughout the full project lifecycle
- Manage the flow of quality documentation between clients, engineering, detailing, and production teams
- Coordinate and perform vendor quality audits and support technical procurement activities
- Conduct jobsite and vendor visits to verify compliance, perform audits, and assist in resolving quality issues
- Evaluate and select inspection methods, tools, and gauges to optimize defect detection
- Coordinate with external inspectors, auditors, and customer quality representatives
- Create quality control drawings and inspection plans using CAD
- Perform statistical analysis and quality calculations using Excel and other specialized software

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clackamas, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $52.88 / hr.
