We are seeking a detail-oriented Low Voltage Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive estimates and proposals for low voltage construction projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in the low voltage industry and a strong understanding of project specifications, drawings, and material/labor requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review construction drawings, specifications, addendums, and scope documents to develop detailed cost estimates.
- Perform material take-offs for low voltage systems, including (but not limited to) structured cabling, access control, CCTV, intrusion, AV, and related technologies.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
- Develop detailed proposals and bid packages for clients and general contractors.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and sales teams to clarify scope, design intent, and project requirements.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, job walks, and RFI processes as needed.
- Maintain and update estimating templates, pricing databases, and historical cost information.
- Support handoff meetings to ensure smooth transition from estimating to operations.
Required Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in estimating for low voltage construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of low voltage systems, code requirements, and installation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, riser diagrams, and specifications.
- Proficiency with estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Sage, D-Tools, Excel, or similar).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and mathematical abilities with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple bids simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with design-build or negotiated low voltage projects.
- Knowledge of BICSI standards or related low-voltage industry certifications.
- Familiarity with project management software.
