Detention Officers Western As Needed

Starside Security & Investigation, Inc. Detention Services Division (DSD) is looking for as-needed Detention Officers for Government Contracts in Western Texas. Western Texas covers 92,000 sq miles from Waco to El Paso. Starside covers Detainees (Inmates / Prisoners) in Hospitals in cities to include Waco, Austin, and El Paso. Detention Officers must have a clean background and all DO’s providing transport for Detainees must have a clean driving record.

Starside’s Detention Officers prevent escape and protect the detainee and the general public while detainees are in Starside’s custody.

Ideal Candidate

• Clean Background / Clear Credit / Driving record
• Pass a Pre-employment Physical and Psychological evaluation, (MMPI)
• Texas Commissioned Security License (Level III or Level IV)
• Texas Concealed Weapons Permit (CCW) a plus
• Previous Law Enforcement, Corrections or Detention experience, (3 years fulltime min)
• Accredited by ACA or similar authority a plus
• Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time
• Willing to work long hours and on weekends
• Special Operations / Military a plus (DD214)
• All Starside employees must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Clearance

Compensation is $30.00 to $32.50 per hour. Detention Officers should be able to communicate effectively to all levels of officers, management and administrators at local, county and federal facilities. As with all Detention Service Division employees Detention Officers must be approved by The USMS, HSI, ICE or FBI and pass their background
