Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Med / Surg night shift position, requiring Epic charting and Level 1 Trauma experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital-based Cardiac Med / Surg unit
  • Night shift schedule from 7 : 00pm to 7 : 30am, three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Care for a cardiac patient population within a high-acuity Med / Surg environment
  • Use of Epic EMR is required
  • Role includes comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, implementation of interventions, and evaluating outcomes
  • Collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care
  • Bedside lab testing and associated quality controls are part of daily duties
  • Professional accountability and active participation in ongoing self-development are expected
  • Adheres to RTO policy allowing no more than 7 days off in a 13-week contract
  • No travel partners are permitted for this assignment
  • A 6-month break in service is required for workers returning after 1 year of continuous assignment at any Carle Health location

    • Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required
  • Minimum of one year relevant nursing experience in a comparable setting
  • Previous Level 1 Trauma experience is required
  • Experience with Epic charting must be clearly documented
  • Associate degree in nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred
  • Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and speak fluent English
  • No local candidates within a 50-mile radius
