Pay Range : $125,000 - $150,000 base salary + incentive compensation

Job Summary

Adecco Permanent Recruitment is partnering with a well-established consulting firm in the engineering and professional services space to help them hire a Controller . This newly created role will consolidate financial functions, modernize processes, and provide strategic support as the company continues to grow. The position is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who thrives in a collaborative, innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, billing, A / R, A / P, accruals, and financial statement preparation.

Take ownership of project accounting across the company

Manage cash flow, forecasting, audits, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Partner with project managers and leadership to analyze project budgets, profitability, and operational metrics.

Develop financial reports, scenario models, and forecasts to support planning and decision-making.

Serve as liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, financial institutions, and vendors.

Establish and refine accounting procedures and controls to improve consistency and efficiency.

Support strategic initiatives such as employee ownership, equity tracking, and long-term business planning.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including hands-on general ledger and project accounting.

Background in professional services, consulting, architecture, or engineering industries. (Project Accounting)

Proficiency with accounting software (Deltek Ajera, Deltek Vision or Deltek Vantagepoint preferred), Excel, and financial modeling.

Strong knowledge of compliance, audits, and internal controls.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills; experience mentoring others.

Preferred :

CPA or equivalent certification.

Knowledge of revenue recognition for professional services.

Exposure to AI / data analytics for financial reporting.

Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to build and scale accounting processes.

Pay Details : $125,000.00 to $150,000.00 per year
