J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers and J&J Truck Equipment seek a Field technician / Senior Mechanic to perform field service and warranty work at customer locations as needed. This individual will prepare chassis to receive bodies, cuts, welds, and modify chassis as required, install wiring and electrical components, hydraulic system components; install lift axles; install plow hoists, body hoists and hydraulic cylinders, pneumatic components and controls, and similar tasks. Performs similar tasks on trailers. The successful candidate will be based at our Truck Equipment facility but will perform tasks for both divisions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following :

• Modify and prepare chassis as required by the work order.
• Install wiring and electrical components.
• Install pneumatic controls and components.
• Install hydraulic controls and components.
• Install plow lifts and hoists.
• Install lift axles.
• Install body hoists and hoist cylinder(s)
• Perform duties in a safe; required PPE manner, and always wear
• Observes and complies with all provisions of the ISO 90001 QMS
• Attend vendor training courses as required for service and repair of various systems
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle to customer locations around the central and western PA market. A valid driver's license is required.
• Professionally represent the company. Attention to customer needs is and will always be a job one.
• Check driveshaft clearance
• Ensure proper routing of airlines
• Competent in basic shop math

Supervisory Responsibilities :

This role has no direct supervisory responsibilities, however, the ability to perform fieldwork without direct supervision is a must. Responsible for self and any assigned assistants depending on the scope of work to be performed.

Education and Experience :

Vocational / technical training needed or a high school diploma or general education degree with work experience in an industrial setting.

Must have a valid PA driver's license, class C minimum, and have a clean driving record
