VMware Engineer

Remote - 75% travel in the US

Active Secret Clearance Required

Employment Options : 1099 Contract to Hire (No Third Parties)

Contract Duration : 6-12 Months

Responsibilities

Our client is looking for multiple VMware Engineers to join their team! In this role, you will travel to various Army bases in the . to deploy and optimize VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments. You will work onsite alongside a specialized team of Architects and Staff Consultants, ensuring successful implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting of VCF infrastructure environments.

Travel to assigned Army bases throughout the . to provide onsite VCF deployment and support
Analyze the customer’s existing infrastructure and collaborate with team members to develop an optimal deployment strategy
Install, configure, and maintain VMware, ensuring stability and performance
Troubleshoot and resolve network, storage, and virtualization issues within VCF environments
Document processes and solutions clearly for both internal teams and customers
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing timely status updates and recommendations

Requirements

A bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant work experience or 7+ years of equivalent relevant work experience in lieu of a degree

Proven experience with VMware v6, 7, and 8

Hands-on experience deploying and optimizing VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)

Strong networking knowledge and experience configuring and maintaining network environments

NSX, VSAN, Vsphere experience

Hands on engineer / ability to talk through technical requirements

Ability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues

Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in an onsite team environment

Ability to travel up to 75% nationally

Education / Certification Requirements

A bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant work experience or 7+ years of equivalent relevant work experience in lieu of a degree

Security + or other relevant IAT II certification

VCF certification (VMWare, VCF 5.2, VCF 9.0 certifications desired) (Must have within 60 days of starting)

Clearance Requirements

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and will need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active Secret clearance is required
