We are seeking a Lead CNC Programmer to join their growing team. This is a high impact role for an experienced programmer who enjoys technical leadership, hands on problem solving, and shaping machining standards for a new facility.
Position Overview
The Lead CNC Programmer will develop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs while serving as a technical mentor to CNC Programmers and Operators. This role works closely with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant production. You’ll play a key role in new equipment setup, process improvements, and supporting the launch of new products.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for milling, turning, and multi axis machines
Act as the technical lead and subject matter expert for CNC programming and machining processes
Mentor and train junior CNC programmers and machinists on standards, best practices, and troubleshooting
Review and approve CNC programs, setups, and tooling strategies
Collaborate with engineering on new product introductions and design for manufacturability
Lead program prove outs and support first article inspections
Create and maintain programming standards, documentation, and setup sheets
Promote safety, quality, and compliance with internal procedures
Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Qualifications
Technical certification in Manufacturing, Machining, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience supporting new equipment installations, facility startups, or production ramp ups
Advanced proficiency in G code and CAD / CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM, etc.)
Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, materials, and GD&T
Demonstrated experience mentoring others and solving complex machining challenges
Salary- $74k to $101k DOE
