Agawam manufacturing company currently seeking Machine Operators who will learn to operate both manual and CNC machines according to program and product specifications to produce small to medium sized components as either as a finished product or as part of another larger product to be assembled. Candidates should have previous manufacturing experience and a willing to learn.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates manual machines such as saws, mills, and lathes
- Positions parts in specified locations using a variety of fastening devices
- Operates hand-held tools, electrical tools, and / or pneumatic tools
- Operates lift equipment as needed
- Uses precision measuring tools as required
- Ability to recognize various material types used in department and adjust equipment if needed
- Ability to recognize worn tooling and change in machine as required
- Verifies accuracy of completed product or batch inspections
- Reports defective materials, discrepancies, process malfunctions or completed products that are not in compliance with company and / or customer specifications to the Department Lead
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
- Completes all necessary paperwork as required, including in process or carbon copy production sheets

Basic understanding of machining principles (CNC machine operations is a plus)Mechanical aptitudeExcellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workBasic computer skills for machine operation and data entryStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt quicklyEffective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a teamPhysical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 poundsSchedule : 1st shift 6am-4pm
