Position Description

Lincoln Land Community College is looking for a qualified part-time instructor to teach Electrical Maintenance at our main campus in Springfield for both day and evening classes.

As Adjunct Faculty at LLCC, you will receive one paid absence per semester, free access to the LLCC Fitness Center (during available hours), a travel stipend if traveling over twenty miles to campus, and tuition wavier benefit for adjunct faculty and their dependents under the age of 22. Come join our team and experience success at LLCC! Position Requirements Applicants must have at least 2000 hours of employment in electrical maintenance. Associate’s degree in an electrical related field & / or completion of an apprenticeship program (Journeyman Electrician) preferred. Knowledge and skills in the areas of circuits, transformers, motors and generators, controls, wiring, PLC’s, solar installation, hydraulics / pneumatics, mechanic systems and robotics is preferred. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.

Unreimbursed medical accountLLCC offers a tax-free method for employees to place money aside and use it to pay for out-of-pocket family medical dental and vision expenses. You have a choice to join the unreimbursed medical account if you enroll in the Open Access Health Insurance Plan or if you choose to decline LLCC medical insurance. If an employee declines health insurance coverage, LLCC will make an annual contribution of $500 into an unreimbursed medical spending account with no contribution required by the employee. If the employee wishes to contribute more than $500 of their own money to the account, LLCC will match the contribution, not to exceed $1,650.Dependent care flexible spending accountDCAP is a pre-tax benefit account used to pay for eligible dependent care services. It’s a smart and simple way to save money while taking care of your loved ones so you can continue to work.Health Savings Account (HSA)Employees on the HDHP will be assigned a health savings account through HealthEquity. LLCC will contribute a total of $3,100 to your HSA during fiscal year 2026. This contribution will be made in two installments – July 15, 2025, and Jan. 15, 2026. The dollar amount of the installment will be based on your active employment during the six-month installment period. This tax-free contribution can be used to offset your out-of-pocket costs related to health, dental and vision expenses. Retirement planThe State Universities Retirement System (SURS) covers LLCC employees. SURS contributions are deducted on a pre-tax basis. The employee may choose from three different retirement plans. SURS does not coordinate with Social Security and, consequently, there is no payroll deduction for FICA. However, there is a payroll deduction requirement of 1.45% of gross wages for Medicare.Deferred compensationLLCC offers employees the opportunity to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation plan. We offer a 403(b) plan, 457 plan, Roth IRA (not tax deferred) and a no-load profile plan.LLCC tuition waiverStarting or continuing education is highly valued at LLCC.
