Transition Associate

Caring Transitions is seeking a dedicated Transition Associate to join our compassionate team. In this role, you will execute the labor needed to pack and settle clients during significant life changes, ensuring their belongings are handled with the utmost care and respect. We are looking for a highly organized individual who can navigate chaos with a level head, maintain trustworthiness and integrity, and approach every situation with a positive attitude.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Safely pack and unpack clients' belongings, ensuring everything is organized and well-protected during the transition.
  • Assist clients in sorting through items, helping make informed decisions about what to keep, donate, or discard, while respecting their personal attachments.
  • Provide empathetic and professional service, understanding the emotional weight of each transition and ensuring clients feel supported throughout the process.
  • Organize and manage multiple tasks efficiently, ensuring projects are completed on time without sacrificing quality.
  • Maintain composure in stressful and messy situations, proactively addressing challenges with a positive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Work with limited supervision while demonstrating honesty and a commitment to doing the right thing for clients and their belongings.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a seamless transition experience for clients, sharing insights and best practices.

Qualifications :

  • Previous experience in moving, logistics, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Strong ability to sort and organize items effectively and efficiently without losing focus.
  • Ability to remain cheerful and supportive, even in challenging situations.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks, including carrying, packaging and labeling items as needed.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
  • Valid Driver's License and car with the ability to travel to the following areas : Elgin, South Elgin, Bartlett and Hanover Park.
