Job Summary :

The CVOR Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting the surgical team during cardiovascular and thoracic procedures , ensuring a sterile environment, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon to facilitate safe and efficient operations. This role also includes supporting other surgical cases when cardiac procedures are not scheduled.

Minimum 18 months of CVOR experience required .

National certification required : NBSTSA (CST) or NCCT (TS-C) .

Job Summary : \n\nThe CVOR Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting the surgical team during cardiovascular and thoracic procedures, ensuring a sterile environment, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon to facilitate safe and efficient operations. This role also includes supporting other surgical cases when cardiac procedures are not scheduled.\n\nKey Responsibilities : \n\nPrepare and maintain the sterile field before, during, and after surgical procedures.\n\nAssist in complex cardiovascular, thoracic, and vascular surgeries, including open-heart and bypass procedures.\n\nEnsure all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterilized and functioning properly.\n\nAnticipate surgeon and procedural needs to ensure seamless surgical flow.\n\nHandle specimens, count sponges, needles, and instruments according to protocol.\n\nMaintain accurate records and ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.\n\nParticipate in cardiac call rotation and respond promptly to emergency procedures.\n\nSupport other surgical specialties when cardiac cases are not scheduled.\n\nCollaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and nursing staff to promote optimal patient outcomes.\n\nRequirements : \n\nExperience : \n\nMinimum 18 months of CVOR experience required.\n\n2+ years preferred, with strong cardiac and vascular surgery experience.\n\nCertifications : \n\nNational certification required : NBSTSA (CST) or NCCT (TS-C).\n\nBLS (Basic Life Support) required.\n\nCardiac Call : Required.\n\nWeekend Requirement : To be discussed during interview.\n\nFirst -Timers : Accepted (with strong experience).\n\nPreferred Qualifications : \n\n3+ years of CVOR and vascular surgical experience.\n\nProficiency in handling complex cardiac cases (CABG, valve replacements, aortic repairs).\n\nAbility to function independently and adapt in a fast-paced OR environment.\n\nExperience with EMR and surgical tracking systems.
