job_description.job_card.job_descriptionDesign and develop flow control products (valves, actuators, manifolds) Perform detailed engineering analyses (calculations, test plans, qualification plans) for performance and reliability. Review external validation data (FEA, CFD, physical test results). Ensure compliance with industry and government standards for quality and safety. Manage end-to-end engineering process from concept through manufacture, assembly, and test. Create prototypes and oversee functional and environmental testing. Generate engineering documentation, including calculations, plans, and technical instructions. Produce GA and component drawings to BS8888 standards, applying GD&;T and DfM principles. Degree in Mechanical Engineering 8 - 10 years’ experience in mechanical design, ideally with valve / hydraulic systems. Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred). Strong knowledge of fluid control systems and products (valves, manifolds, actuators). Experience creating calculations and design / product validation. Familiarity with engineering / quality tools (APQP, FMEA, 8D, 5Y). Customer interaction experience (specification interpretation, design reviews). Membership with an Engineering Institution (IMechE, IET, etc.) desirable.

Monday – Thursday 7 : 30 – 16 : 30 Friday 07 : 30 – 12 : 30 – Flexible hours for the right candidate
