The Neuro-Surgical ICU is a 17-bed adult unit specializing in the care of critically ill neuroscience and neurosurgical patients, including those with strokes, head and spinal cord trauma, and brain hemorrhages. Our nurses are trained to monitor complex patient needs such as intracranial pressures and brain tissue oxygenation, while maintaining a family-centered care approach in collaboration with our Neuro-intensivist team.
Job Summary
As the Assistant Nursing Supervisor, you will be responsible for the oversight of patient care, clinical staff, and unit operations. This includes ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, patient-centered care to support our strategic goals. You will oversee daily department operations, including off-shift and weekend supervision of nursing and support staff.
Your role will also encompass managing resources, quality improvement initiatives, payroll, staff scheduling, and monitoring patient throughput to enhance clinical efficiency. Additionally, you will foster a safe and supportive environment in the unit by actively participating as a staff RN when needed.
This position supports leadership in maintaining standards of excellence and promoting professional development. You will engage in, and may lead, performance improvement initiatives within the department.
