FLSA Status : Part - Time (Less then 35 hours)

The Youth Autism Department provides therapeutic and recreational programming designed to promote social skills, communication, and personal development for children and teens on the autism spectrum.

Position Summary

The Therapeutic Integration Instructor plays a vital role in supporting children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in achieving individualized goals through structured therapeutic and recreational activities. This position combines compassion, creativity, and teamwork to deliver meaningful, person-centered support that encourages growth, independence, and inclusion in a positive and engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities

Implement individualized service plans (ISPs) that address participants' therapeutic, behavioral, and social goals.

Lead and support daily programming focused on social interaction, communication, emotional regulation, life skills, and recreation.

Facilitate group and one-on-one activities that promote engagement and skill development in a safe and nurturing environment.

Model positive behavior and utilize evidence-based strategies to reinforce appropriate social and adaptive skills.

Collect data and document participant progress in alignment with program standards and regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team-including therapists, behavior specialists, and families-to support holistic participant growth.

Ensure safety, inclusion, and respect for all participants at all times.

Participate in ongoing staff training and professional development sessions related to autism support, behavior management, and therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications

Required :

High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework in psychology, education, or related fields preferred).

Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children or youth with developmental disabilities or autism.

Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to foster positive relationships with participants, families, and team members.

Ability to implement structured activities while maintaining flexibility to meet individual needs.

CPR / First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Must pass background check and meet all licensing and regulatory requirements.

Preferred :

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in special education, psychology, human services, or related field.

Training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), or similar behavioral approaches.

Experience in a therapeutic recreation or integration setting.
