Job Description

As a Specimen Processor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of laboratory specimens. You will be responsible for reviewing specimen packages, including dried blood, dried urine, and saliva, for complete information and routing them to the appropriate destination within the company. This position involves receiving, opening, and attaching relevant paperwork to specimen packages, reviewing requisitions for complete patient and billing information, and accurately logging patient information into company software.

Responsibilities

• Review specimen packages for completeness and route them to the appropriate destination within the company.
• Receive and open specimen packages and attach relevant paperwork.
• Review requisitions for complete patient and billing information.
• Accession laboratory specimens and deliver them to the lab for testing.
• Accurately log patient information from requisition forms into company software.
• Perform document scanning.
• Route requisitions and payments to the appropriate department for processing.
• Collaborate with team members to identify, label, and enter information into the computer.

Work Environment

This role operates within a structured environment where you can expect a consistent schedule from Monday to Friday, either 8 : 30 AM to 4 : 30 PM with a 30-minute lunch or 8 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM with a 60-minute lunch. This position requires a balance of independent and team-oriented work. You will be expected to wear PPE potentially all day, maintaining a focus on safety and the greater good of helping others. The work is relatively sedentary, ideal for individuals who appreciate monotony and predictability.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00 / hr.
