The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) support youth and community services through contracts with community-based organizations throughout New York City. DYCD Youth Services, encompassing programs such as BEACON, COMPASS, CORNERSTONE, RHY, SNL, and CACFP programming, seeks to support community-based organizations high quality after school services through funding, monitoring, coaching, capacity, evaluation and advocacy. DYCD Youth Services is seeking an Operations Analyst to join the Youth Services Operations Team. The Youth Services Operations Team offers specialized support and guidance to the entire Youth Services initiative with facility set-up and licensing, policy development, contract compliance and performance, data analysis and interpretation, unit operations and efficiencies, system overview and enhancements and communication to contracted providers. The Operations Analyst will focus on developing data-driven operational tools, processes, and workflows to support both internal and external partners in strengthening Youth Services programming, reporting, and analytics. The Operations Analyst will report to the Deputy Director of Operations & Analytics within the Youth Services Operations Unit. Key tasks include:
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or 2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
- Proficiency with MS 365 applications (Word, PPT, Excel, SharePoint, Forms) - Advanced experience in Excel or other spreadsheet management software, including the utilization of formulas - Familiarity with designing and building data collection surveys on a variety of platforms (ie. Jotform, Microsoft Forms, Google Forms, etc.) preferred but not required - Experience in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) preferred but not required - Experience using Power Automate or other automation tools preferred but not required - Extensive experience navigating multiple data systems with varied infrastructures - Able to collaborate closely and work independently to manage multiple competing priorities/deadlines - Ability to use and manipulate large data sets to build quantitative reports - Project management and data stewardship experience - Expertise in afterschool program models preferred but not required - Excellent communication skills - Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, timeliness, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
