Position SummaryThe Project Director / Lead Nutritionist oversees all operations of the Genesis HOPE Food-as-Medicine (FAM) enterprise, integrating evidence-based nutrition interventions with community health initiatives. This dual role provides leadership for strategic planning, program management, and clinical nutrition delivery for Detroit residents living with chronic diet-related diseases.Education and Credentials Masters degree preferred in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or a related field Bachelors degree with Registered Dietitian (RD or RDN) credential acceptableKey Responsibilities Lead strategic direction, implementation, and evaluation of the FAM program Develop and oversee nutrition education curricula, menus, and grocery box design Supervise program staff, contractors, and community educators Serve as clinical nutrition lead for participant assessments and health coaching Coordinate with FQHCs, hospitals, and payers under the Michigan ILOS model Ensure compliance with MDARD and Detroit Health Department regulations Manage program budgets, grants, and reporting requirements Represent Genesis HOPE in community coalitions and stakeholder meetingsCore Competencies Deep understanding of Food-as-Medicine and chronic disease management Proven leadership and team management abilities Strong public speaking, grant writing, and partnership skills Cultural competence and dedication to community-based equity work Data literacy and familiarity with HIPAA-compliant digital toolsWork EnvironmentHybrid position with community-based responsibilities.
