Job Description

As a machinist, you will be responsible for operating and setting up a variety of machine tools to produce high-precision metal or plastic parts. Your role will involve reading and interpreting technical drawings, selecting and installing the correct tools, measuring and inspecting parts, and performing routine machine maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate and set up a variety of machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and drills.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand part specifications.
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools and determine correct speeds and feeds.
• Use precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet required dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines, reporting any mechanical issues.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Modify and adjust machine settings for optimal performance.
• Identify and resolve machining issues such as incorrect dimensions and tool wear.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hampton, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00 / hr.
