Role : Sr. Data Scientist

Location : Sandy, UT (In-Office, Flexible work options available)

Reports To : CTO

The Senior Data Scientist will be the first and sole Data Scientist in the organization, serving as a foundational member of 401GO’s growing data function. In this role, you will not only lead advanced analytics, modeling, and experimentation efforts, but also help shape the long-term data strategy and infrastructure for the company.

As the team and business scale, this role will be responsible for building, hiring, and managing a high-performing data science team . This is an ideal position for someone who thrives in high-growth environments, enjoys solving complex problems, and is excited about owning both hands-on analytics and future leadership responsibilities.

What You’ll Be Doing :

• Lead the Data Science Program : Architect the long-term data science roadmap, including infrastructure, hiring, processes, and best practices.
• Build and mentor a high-performing data science and analytics team as the company grows.
• Establish data governance, documentation standards, and model lifecycle management.
• AI and Machine Learning Development : Develop and curate high-quality datasets for internal AI tools, ensuring privacy, security, and consistency.
• Hands-On Data Science and Analytics : Analyze complex datasets to uncover trends, behaviors, operational bottlenecks, and strategic insights.
• Build dashboards, predictive models, and custom analytics to support executive decision-making.
• Work closely with Finance to improve forecasting, cost modeling, revenue analytics, and operational reporting.
• Cross-Functional Leadership : Collaborate with executives, engineering, operations, customer success, finance, and product to identify data opportunities and drive measurable impact.
