Facility Type : Hospital - Inpatient GI Call Only
Specialty : Gastroenterology (Physician)
Location : Missouri
Assignment Length : ASAP - Ongoing (long-term vacancy, likely through the end of 2026)
Schedule & Flexibility : Beeper call only.
24-hour shifts (7a-7a) with a 1 : 3 call ratio.
Providers can expect manageable consult volumes (0-5 / day) and admissions (0-2 / day).
This role is ideal for physicians seeking a better schedule with predictable call responsibilities.
Pay Rate : Highly competitive daily rate; negotiable based on experience and availability.
Charting / Dictation : Epic EMR
Call Requirements :
Call response time : 30 minutes
Call back required : 100%
Patients seen : 0-3 / day
ERCP & EUS not required for call coverage
Required Skills & Procedures :
Upper GI endoscopy (biopsy, foreign body removal, cautery, variceal injection)
ERCP (diagnostic preferred; therapeutic not required)
PEG placement
Esophageal dilation / manometry & interpretation
Small bowel biopsy
Lower GI endoscopy
Sigmoidoscopy (flexible & rigid)
Colonoscopy (biopsy & polypectomy)
EUS (preferred but not required)
Liver biopsy
Sengstaken / Blakemore tube insertion & management
